Wlady was very knowledgable of Riobamba and Ecuador in general. If you have the time to do some of his trips definitely don't miss the opportunity! We haven't had a better experience yet! He showed us great food and the best hornado we have had in Ecuador.

Ecuador Eco Adventure offered me a gift that i will remember for a long time: first he hosted me in his house in the best way possible,i really felt at home. Second he got us really cheap treks arround the city. Third he guided me and other fellow travelers to some remote and unknown places arround the chimborazo volcano. He took us to thermal springs. He took us to the most beautiful waterfall i’ve ever seen.

Many eco tourism groups simply apply the green name to their business in hopes of attracting conscientious travelers, but, with Ecuador Eco Adventure, I can confidently say it was the best eco tourism experience I’ve ever had.

My trip involved staying with a local family who lived outside of Puyo in the rainforest. Maintaining connections with the local community and ensuring the indigenous people are benefiting from the tourism attraction of their land is something our guide clearly cares deeply about, and I was glad to be able to participate in the tourist economy while ensuring the local people are the ones receiving the benefits.

On our multi night stay in the rainforest, we slept in a raised platform cabana that are typical of the area and hiked around the local area. However, unlike many other ‘rainforest hikes’ I have been on, this trip was unique, challenging, and educational. We were led down a footpath (barely distinguishable amongst the other jungle tracks) that quickly gave way to secondary, and then primary jungle, and machetes were an absolute necessity to making any headway. To keep it short, we swing on vines, crossed rivers, swam in streams/waterfalls, ate all sorts of local fruit, used medicinal plants for scrapes or cuts, and saw a wide variety of birds. Watching the sun rise over the mist cloaked rainforest near Puyo is certainly a moment I will not forget.

If you are taking a trip in Ecuador and want to participate in environmental tourism that does more than pay lip service to its namesake, I highly recommend checking out Ecuador Eco Adventure!
